• Banker – The Opponent of the player in Pai Gow

• Co-Banking – In some casinos you will have the option to co-bank with the house. This means that you become a partner with it when you are in the banker position

• Copies – This basically means tie. It happens when the player and the banker have hands with the exact same value. In this case the banker wins the hand

• Dragon Hand – In some casinos hands are also dealt at empty seats. You might be allowed to pick it up and play it when you sit down.

• Hand Behind – This is a term to describe the Pai Gow hand that is made out of 5 cards. You are usually going to place it behind the 2 cards hand and this is why the term is used. Sometimes you might also hear this hand called High Hand

• Hand in Front – As expected, the 2 cards hand. It can also be called Low Hand

• House Way – The name given to the strategy that the dealer uses. It is predetermined and a lot of Pai Gow players are using similar strategies to those applied by casinos

• Jokers – A wild card that is used in Pai Gow. You can use it in order to complete one flush, straight or straight flush. If this does not happen it will have the same value as an Ace. In different casinos jokers can have any value the player wants.

The other terms that you must be familiar with are the same ones used in regular poker to describe hand strength. These are Pair, Two Pairs, Three of a Kind, Flush, Straight, Four of a Kind, Straight Flush and Royal Flush. Keep in mind that the biggest hand in Pai Gow Poker is not Royal Flush. The royal flush can be beaten by 5 aces. You get this hand when you have 4 aces and a Joker.
